Ryan MacGillivray – Bâtisseur, Innovateur, Opérateur du Nord
Ryan MacGillivray n'est pas un constructeur de bateaux conventionnel — et c'est précisément ce qui rend ses bateaux différents.
Soudeur plastique certifié DVS (Allemagne), Ryan met son expertise technique au service d'un matériau que peu de constructeurs maîtrisent véritablement. Le soudage plastique à ce niveau exige précision, patience et une connaissance approfondie du matériau – des qualités qui caractérisent le travail de Ryan.
Avant de se lancer dans la construction navale, Ryan a passé onze ans comme mécanicien d'engins lourds dans les Territoires du Nord-Ouest arctiques, assurant le bon fonctionnement du matériel dans des conditions d'utilisation parmi les plus extrêmes de la planète. Cette expérience a forgé sa philosophie : si un produit ne fonctionne pas dans le Nord, il ne fonctionne nulle part.
Ryan est également le fondateur, l'inventeur et le principal innovateur de Yukon Expedition Sleds, aujourd'hui reconnue comme la plus grande entreprise mondiale de traîneaux arctiques. Depuis plus de 11 ans, il remet en question les idées reçues en matière de conception, remplaçant les matériaux et les hypothèses obsolètes par des solutions plus légères, plus robustes et plus performantes. Son travail a constamment bouleversé les marchés traditionnels en démontrant qu'il existe une meilleure façon de fabriquer des équipements pour les environnements extrêmes.
En dehors de son magasin, Ryan est un chasseur et chef d'expédition chevronné du Yukon, fort de plusieurs décennies d'expérience pratique dans l'organisation d'expéditions de longue distance en régions isolées, été comme hiver. Ces expéditions ne sont pas théoriques : ce sont de véritables terrains d'essai où le matériel est mis à l'épreuve. Cette expérience concrète confère à Ryan une connaissance approfondie des caractéristiques essentielles que doivent posséder les bateaux pour être sûrs, fiables et performants lorsque les secours se trouvent à des centaines de kilomètres.
La passion de Ryan pour les voyages en régions reculées et la résolution de problèmes a nourri une approche novatrice du design, lui permettant d'envisager des solutions que d'autres ne perçoivent pas. Cette même mentalité guide aujourd'hui son expansion dans la fabrication sur mesure de bateaux et d'aéroglisseurs en PEHD, où la durabilité, la légèreté et la praticité en conditions réelles priment sur la tradition.
Reconnu pour son esprit novateur, Ryan ne se contente pas de copier l'existant. Il est animé par la volonté de bousculer les idées reçues, d'apprendre sans cesse et de créer mieux, même lorsque le chemin est plus difficile.

En 2025, nous avons construit le PREMIER bateau à réaction entièrement soudé en plastique du Canada, 30 % plus léger et offrant une charge utile 30 % supérieure à celle de tout autre bateau comparable en Amérique du Nord. Ce bateau, c'est le Navigator, et nous continuons d'en peaufiner la conception pour des performances optimales en 2026.
En 2025, nous avons entamé une collaboration avec un expert canadien en aéroglisseurs, fort de 30 ans d'expérience, pour concevoir le premier aéroglisseur-taxi tout-terrain soudé entièrement en plastique au monde. La conception est presque terminée et la construction débutera en mai 2026.
Ce bateau est une embarcation de débarquement pour 8 passagers, avec postes de pilotage supérieurs et inférieurs. Il devrait être 30 % plus léger et plus résistant que n'importe quel autre aéroglisseur à glace du marché. Tous les connaisseurs d'aéroglisseurs savent que plus c'est léger, mieux c'est. Côté motorisation, les clients auront le choix entre des configurations essence et diesel.
